Shayla Copas
National award-winning designer, speaker, author, product designer, brand ambassador, & philanthropist, Shayla Copas, one of the South’s most acclaimed luxury designers and tastemakers, has created unique and innovative interiors and products for an array of residential, commercial, manufacturing, and event clients throughout her more than 20-year career.
Shayla’s design aesthetic has what she calls a “Southern Glam” appeal, with glitz, glamour, pattern, and color as her trademarks. She is often referred to as a “color guru” because of her keen eye for color, texture, and balance. Her eye for color and pattern can be easily spotted throughout her designs as she loves to add unexpected interest to the events, rooms, and products she designs. This has earned her the reputation as a tabletop and entertaining trendsetter, garnering Copas a placement on “Salonneiere’s top 100 party hosts in America” list, joining Oprah and Jennifer Aniston to the prestigious list. Shayla is well known for her event design and entertaining talents. She has designed and implemented more than 50 major events, including the Arkansas Inaugural Ball.
In 2015, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson appointed Shayla to the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion Commission. As a commissioner, she has worked with the state’s first family on the mansion’s renovation and design. Her firm has donated countless hours to the mansion project, winning national recognition during the Designer of the Year awards for the Interior Design Society.
Shayla’s work has been featured in print regionally and nationally. Her first book “Four Seasons of Entertaining” has been a top seller on Amazon and Copas will soon write more. She recently filmed Southern Glam with the Design Network which showcases her glitz and glam style. Shayla also appears regularly on Good Afternoon Arkansas, where she shares entertaining, design, and lifestyle advice. She can be seen at industry events as well as various markets and conferences making trend forecasts, speaking on panel discussions, and featured as a keynote speaker.
She has served on numerous nonprofit boards during her career and has been instrumental in raising more than $4 million for a variety of organizations and causes. Shayla won the coveted “Philanthropist of the Year” Award from the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas for her tireless efforts helping to raise funds for her most treasured nonprofits which focus on protecting and healing abused children. In 2015, she founded the Woman of Inspiration event for Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas to help raise money for awareness, protection, and healing for abuse victims and their families.
