Dani Christine
Dani has had a passion for art and design for as long as she can remember. Her lifelong pursuit of all things creative included drawing and playing music through high school before studying Graphic Design in college. However, it wasn’t until Dani and her family moved to Portland, Oregon, in 2000, that she turned her attention to interior design. She fell in love with the home they purchased because it was a “blank canvas” with endless possibilities and Dani has continued to paint, DIY, and sew her way through any project she can dream up.
Along the way Dani started her own workroom, TailorMade Designs, providing custom made items for the home to Portland interior designers and private clients. Her talents have also allowed her to reach a global audience through blogging for Storypiece; Through this platform, Dani has continued pursuing a creative lifestyle, as well as teaching and encouraging others to do the same. Her designs have been included in Redbook, Real Simple, and Buzzfeed and have provided her the opportunity to work with national brands such as Lowe’s, LampsPlus, and GE Lighting.
In 2018 Dani took her love of interior design further by going back to school and earning her Masters Certification from the Heritage School of Interior Design. During this intensive program, Dani’s enthusiasm for interior design that maximizes functionality in a gorgeous way became clear and a new career was born. Upon graduating, Dani launched her own residential design company, Portland Design House which provides beautiful, custom & purposeful design solutions for those seeking highly functional spaces that feel like home.
As a member of IDS, Dani earned a National Award for Excellence in Programs for 2019 as well as Chapter Vice President for 2020 - 2021 and is the current Chapter President.
When not in the studio you will find Dani at the beach, eating donuts, or spending time with her husband and 2 kids. In an ideal world, she will be doing all three.
