Melissa Lee

Since launching New South Home in 2011, Melissa Lee and her team have had the opportunity to work on countless projects ranging from single room updates to full home remodels and builds across the Southeast. Her 10 years spent as a fashion retail buyer gave her the experience on how to select the right furnishings and finishes for her Southern clients, creating a perfect balance between upcoming trends and classic style. New South Home's award winning design work has been featured in local and national publications including Designer's Today and Charlotte Home Design & Decor. Her design team won IDS Designer of the Year in 2020, was named a Top Interior Design Firm in Charlotte in 2019, and Best of Houzz; for five years running in Customer Satisfaction. Melissa earned a BBA from the College of William and Mary and studied Interior Design at the New York Institute of Art and Design and CPCC in Charlotte, NC. Her careers in retail buying and interior design have taken her from New York City to Florida on various projects and opportunities. She has been privileged to design homes and rooms benefitting various charitable organizations and is a board member of Savvy Giving by Design in Charlotte, an organization devoted to designing rooms for families facing a medical crisis. She enjoys traveling for business and pleasure but loves being home to raise her two children, Miles and Sienna. When working on any design project, New South Home’s main focus is to create a comfortable and inviting space that reflects each clients personal style. The team ensures that each space has a function for their client’s lifestyle and will stand up to everyday life, especially considerate of children and pets living in the home. New South Home excels in creating beautiful rooms from empty spaces and loves the challenge of designing each home to fit within their client’s individual style, budget, and family life.
