Karrie Yank of Karrie Yank Interiors in Camas, WA, pretty much eats, drinks and sleeps interior design. In fact, design has been in her blood since she could barely maneuver scissors to cut sofas and lamps from the Sears catalog and paste them into shoebox rooms. But she took the long route to becoming a designer. First came a career with Nordstrom, then a career in education, beginning as an elementary school teacher, and eventually a school principal. Through it all though, her passion was designing the interiors of her family’s homes over the years, and advising friends on their homes. When the time seemed right, she enrolled at the highly regarded Heritage School of Interior Design in Portland, OR. Now she has what she says is her dream business, collaborating with each client to make their home the place they can’t wait to get back to; Karrie believes in building relationship as the starting point to each project. Her goal is that her clients spaces will be beautiful, personal, functional, and full of life. Karrie is happily married and the mother of a grown daughter and son. Barkley, a terrier, is an important family member too. Karrie and her husband, Howard, like spending time on their bicycles, and also are into running and cross-country skiing together. They love getting together with family at their place in Central Oregon. Karrie is a news junkie, an avid gardener, and is really happy when she’s cooking a special meal.
