A long and winding road has lead me to interior decoration and design. My first experience in interior decoration came when my husband and I bought a 19th century farm in Provence and renovated the entire 8000 square feet into a Bed and Breakfast. I was instantly passionate about preserving the Provencal original elements such as terra cotta flooring, the clay roof tiles and beautiful flagstones. I worked with local artisans to find those materials, and re-create truly Provencal colors in all the rooms. From just the right shade of lavendar blue for the shutters, to finding the right tone of wall colors, to designing the bed frames in wrought iron, I was able to create a truly unique place that attracted both a French and international clientele. From that project I was then involved in the design and decoration of a modern home on the shores of Lac Leman outside Geneva. Upon returning to the Washington DC region 7 years ago, I became a licensed Realtor in DC, MD and VA, and have had many clients ask for guidance in re-working interior spaces. Those requests and the realization that interior decoration is a true passion and gift, I have become a full time residential decorator working around the DC metro region. Working on decoration and renovations of row homes on Capitol Hill and Georgetown, to kitchen decoration , bathroom design, and rejuventating condos and colonial homes, no space is too small or large to be transformed to something unique and special for my clients. Much international travel as a child and young adult has shown me unique materials and aspects of design that can be intergrated into peoples homes. My goal is to bring CHIC -Comfort, Happiness, Imagination & Class to residential spaces, while respecting my clients' life patterns. I truly believe that no space is too difficult to work with, it just takes imagination. Rooms should reflect the people who live in them.
